Stafford Township, NJ - On Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 the Stafford Township Drug Enforcement Unit along with New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression South Unit and the Ocean County Narcotic’s Strike Force Unit concluded a several month-long narcotics investigation, which led to the arrest of 58 year old Michael Scully of Manahawkin. Prior to Scully’s arrest, the investigation led to the issuance of a search warrant for Scully’s vehicle as well as his residence on Neptune Drive in Manahawkin.
On Tuesday, October 15th a motor vehicle stop was conducted on Scully’s vehicle while he was traveling in the Ocean Acres area. The search warrants were then executed which resulted in Scully possessing methamphetamine, prescription pills, numerous types of drug paraphernalia and (10) firearms of the rifle and shotgun variety.
Ultimately, Scully was charged with 2C:35-10(1) possession of methamphetamine (3rd degree), 2C:35-10(1) possession of Xanax (3rd degree), 4 counts of 2C:36:-2a drug paraphernalia (4th degree), 2C:35-5b(9)b possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine (3rd degree), and 10 counts of 2C:39-4.1 unlawful possession of a weapon during the course of a CDS offense (2nd degree). After being processed at police headquarters Scully was issued a complaint warrant and lodged in the Ocean County Jail with a court appearance to be scheduled by Ocean County Superior Court.
