Stafford Police Blotter Posted on April 20, 2024

Stafford, NJ - April 20th, 2024 - At 2:40 PM on Saturday, the Stafford Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 1442 Pancoast Road.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers of the Stafford Police Department observed a solar shed fully engulfed in flames. The response from law enforcement ensured the safety of the area and facilitated the subsequent firefighting efforts.
Multiple fire departments, including Warren Grove Fire Department, Barnegat Fire Department, and Stafford Township Fire Department, joined the operation and effectively extinguished the fire.
We are pleased to report that there were no injuries resulting from the incident.
Following a comprehensive investigation conducted by Stafford Township Fire Prevention and the Ocean County Fire Marshal, it has been determined that the fire originated from a solar panel battery failure. This conclusion contradicts initial reports from independent news outlets. There was never any evidence that the fire was a result of the manufacturing of controlled dangerous substances.
The Stafford Police Department extends its gratitude to all departments involved in the response and resolution of this incident.
