Stafford Township, NJ – On February 26, 2026, the Stafford Township Police Department Detective Bureau concluded a counterfeit currency investigation that occurred at Shop Rite located at 297 Route 72 on December 26, 2025.  As a result of this investigation, a 15-year-old male juvenile from Bronx, New York and Rosbert Cabrera (19 years old of Soundview Avenue in Bronx, New York) were each charged with one (1) count of 3^rd degree Forgery in violation of N.J.S.A 2C:21-1A(2). 

The male juvenile was issued a juvenile delinquency complaint summons to appear in family court and Cabrera was issued a criminal complaint summons to appear in Ocean County Superior Court. Detective Zac Halliday was the investigating officer.

As a reminder, the Stafford Township Police Department does not release arrest photos of defendants. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
