K9 Assists Patrol In Meth Arrest On Car Stop

Stafford Police Blotter Posted on May 08, 2025

Stafford Township, NJ – On May 3rd, 2025, at approximately 11:46 PM, Officer Justin Barbuto conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle with a suspended registration in the area of Rodeo Drive and Route 9 South. The driver was identified as Florio Rasoilo (56 year-old-male of Colts Neck, NJ) who also had a suspended license. The investigation led officers to believe there were potentially narcotics inside of Florio’s vehicle.  Stafford Township Police K9 Officer Russell Okinsky responded with his K9 partner Buck to conduct an exterior sniff of the vehicle who subsequently alerted on a positive indication of narcotics within. A search was then conducted on the vehicle where officers located drug paraphernalia and multiple bags of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Florio was placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS).

Florio was transported to police headquarters where he was charged with two counts of 2C: 36-2 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and one count of 2C:35-10 Possession of CDS. Florio was released with a criminal complaint summons to appear in Ocean County Superior Court, along with multiple traffic citations. Officer Justin Barbuto was the arresting officer.

As a reminder, the Stafford Township Police Department does not release arrest photos of defendants. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law
