Stafford Township, NJ - On February 21,2026 at approximately 12:00pm, the Stafford Township Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted a pedestrian stop in the area of Route 72 and the Route 9 overpass on 31-year-old Tyler R. Friedenthal of Park Avenue in Freeport, New York. During the course of the pedestrian stop, it was discovered that Friedenthal was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. In addition, Friedenthal had one active outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Jersey City Municipal Court. Ultimately, Friedenthal was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the one active outstanding warrant. Friedenthal was transported to Stafford Township Police Department for processing. 

Friedenthal was charged with 2C:35-10A(1) possession of methamphetamine (3rd degree crime), 2C:36-2A possession of drug paraphernalia (disorderly persons offense), and 2C:29-3A(7) hindering his own apprehension (disorderly persons offense). 

 After being processed at Stafford Township Police Department, Friedenthal was transported to Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing by the Ocean County Superior Court.
