Stafford Township, NJ – On January 21, 2026, at approximately 4 PM, Shayne R. Macavoy (34 years old of North Navajo Drive in Waretown, NJ) was placed under arrest for stealing approximately $1,852 of merchandise from Lowe’s located at 297 Route 72 in Manahawkin. Investigation on scene led to the arrest of an addition individual, Michael S. Shecton (34 years old of Longboat Avenue in Beachwood, NJ), on the strength of a Manchester Township Municipal Court warrant.  Macavoy and Shecton were transported to police headquarters, where Macavoy was charged with third degree Shoplifting, NJSA 2C:20-11. Macavoy was also wanted on multiple warrants, including one out of Manchester Township Municipal Court. Macavoy and Shecton were transferred to Manchester Township Police prior to being transported to Ocean County Jail.  Officers Patrick Walker and Austin Pharo were the arresting officers, assisted by Officer Theodore Caporrino.
