Stafford Township, NJ - On January 21, 2026, at approximately 10:48 PM, Officer Otte attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a dark-colored sedan traveling northbound on Route 9 near Marybell Road.  The driver failed to stop and continued to travel at a high rate of speed.  Shortly after, Officer Otte observed the same vehicle pull into a driveway on Kritter Court, where he made contact with the operator, identified as Ernesto Oliveira, a 31 year old male residing on Kritter Court in Manahawkin. He was arrested without incident and transported to police headquarters for processing, where he was charged with Eluding (2C:29-2B), a 3rd Degree Crime. Oliveira was released on a criminal complaint summons to appear in Ocean County Superior Court and was issued numerous traffic citations. Officer Otte was the arresting officer.
