Meth Distribution Charge Resulting From DEU Arrest

Stafford Township, NJ - On Thursday, December 18th, 2025, at approximately 4:30 PM, the Stafford Township Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted a pedestrian stop in the area of Route 9 and the Cedar Run Apartments on a 50-year-old Peter Kwiatkowski of Inlet Avenue in Manahawkin.  Prior to the pedestrian stop, the DEU developed probable cause that Kwiatkowski was in possession of methamphetamine. 

A search of Kwiatkowski’s person and backpack revealed a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Ultimately, Kwiatkowski was charged with 2C:35-5B(9)(B) Possession with the Intent to Distribute Less than ½ ounce of Methamphetamine (3rd degree crime), 2C:5-2A(1) Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine (3rd degree crime), 2C:35-10A(1) Possession of Methamphetamine (3rd degree crime), 2C:5-2A(1) Conspiracy to Possess Methamphetamine (3rd degree crime), and two counts of 2C:36-2A Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (disorderly persons offense). 

After being processed at Stafford Township Police Department, Kwiatkowski was transported to Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing by the Ocean County Superior Court.
