On November 28, 2025, at approximately 1 PM, the Stafford Township Police Department Detective Bureau assisted by the Stafford Township Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit executed the service of a Temporary Extreme Risk Protective Order (TERPO) and a search warrant at a residence in the Beach Haven West section of Stafford Township in connection with a two month long criminal mischief investigation, involving significant damage to a neighboring residence. The suspect, Mark W. Hazley (67 years old of Jane Drive), was placed under arrest on scene. During the execution of the search warrant, officers seized a shotgun, an air rifle, a large quantity of ammunition and metal BB pellets, and a firearms identification card. The investigation revealed that Hazley was firing the air rifle at a neighboring residence causing damage to the windows. He was charged with one count of 2nd Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A 2C:39-4A(1) and five counts of 3rd Degree criminal mischief in violation of N.J.S.A 2C:17-3A(1). He was processed with a criminal complaint summons to appear in Ocean County Superior Court. Detective Zac Halliday was the arresting officer.
