Stafford Township, NJ – On April 22, 2025, the Stafford Township Detective Bureau concluded a stolen property investigation, which led to the arrest of Michael A. Smith Jr. (37 years old of Sea Breeze Drive in Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ). Upon initial contact with the suspect, Smith Jr. was found to be in possession of stolen automobile parts with the total value exceeding $5,000.00. The automobile parts were determined to be stolen from a previous burglary incident in January 2024 in Stafford Township.
Smith Jr. was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He faces the following charges:
- Two counts 3rd Degree Receiving Stolen Property (N.J.S.A 2C:20-7A)
Smith Jr. was released with a criminal complaint summons to appear in Ocean County Superior Court. Detective Zac Halliday was the arresting officer.
