Stafford Police Blotter Posted on June 17, 2024

Stafford Township, NJ – June 9, 2024 – At approximately 10:45 p.m., Stafford Township Police Officer Nicholas Racanelli witnessed a motorcycle operator tailgating his patrol vehicle on Route 9 Southbound near Beachview Avenue.  The operator, later identified as 23-year-old Robert Killmer of Barnegat, NJ, then passed the officer at a high rate of speed while doing a “wheelie” and making some hand gestures.  Officer Racanelli advised officers in the area to be on the lookout for the motorcycle.  Moments later, Officer Adam Sherer located the motorcycle on West Bay Avenue driving recklessly and attempted to make a motor vehicle stop which was unsuccessful.  Killmer fled and attempted another “wheelie” which caused him to lose control of the motorcycle leading to a single vehicle crash on Route 72 near West Road.  Killmer attempted to remount the damaged motorcycle and flee from the scene; however, Officer Sherer took him into custody.   Killmer sustained minor injury during the crash and was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment.

Killmer was issued a multitude of motor vehicle summonses and was charged with 3rd Degree Eluding 2C:29-2B on a complaint summons which was served to him at the hospital.  A Driving While Intoxicated charge is pending test results.
