Drainage WorkshopThe Mayor and Township Council would like to invite the public to a “Drainage Workshop” on September 9, 2019 at 7PM in the Township Council meeting room located at 260 East Bay Avenue, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. At the workshop, the Township Administrator, Township Engineer and Superintendent of Public Works will be reviewing the short term and long term strategies for reducing flooding in the Township, particularly focusing on Ocean Acres and roadways that intersect Route 9. Locations to be discussed include the Neptune Basin at the intersection of Route 72 and Neptune Drive, Atlantis Avenue to Forecastle Avenue, the intersections of Route 9 and Oxycocus Road, and Route 9 and McKinley Avenue. After the presentation, we will ask that you provide your input on the flood prone areas in the Township and ask any questions you may have. The Township’s Public Works staff has been keeping the current drainage system in operation and this workshop will help determine what may be done in the future to increase the system’s capacity to reduce flooding in the Township.
