The Township of Stafford will hold a public auction on April 2, 2024 at 2 P.M. for two (2) dock slip leases. The auction will be held in the Township Council Meeting Room of Stafford Township’s Town Hall, 260 East Bay Avenue, Manahawkin, N.J. 08050. The slip leases to be auctioned are located at 919 Jennifer Lane, Manahawkin, N.J. 08050 (Block 147.10 Lot 339.C0001 (Unit A) and Block 147.10 Lot 339.C0003 (Unit C)) in Stafford Township. The Units may be viewed on the Township’s website at www.staffordnj.gov.
The slips are suitable for docking a boat, including all appurtenances, with a maximum length of 23’. The estimated depth for each slip varies as follows: Approximately 6’ of water at low tide and 12’ at high tide. Any prospective bidder wishing to visit the slips, prior to placing a bid, may visit the site from dawn to dusk seven (7) days a week. Access may be provided by contacting the Township Administrator at mvonderhayden@staffordnj.gov. There is no on-street or off-street parking available at the location.
Boats may not be docked prior to May 1, 2024 and must be removed from the slip, no later than September 30, 2024. No trailers will be allowed at the site. The minimum bid for each boat slip lease shall be $2,000.00 per slip. When bidding, the amount bid and the Unit to be bid on should be noted by the prospective bidders. A minimum twenty (20%) percent down payment is required on the date of the auction. Full payment for the year will be required before the lessee occupies the slip, by May 1, 2024.
Each lessee is responsible for providing insurance coverage for all vessels and equipment to be docked at the slip. Copies of insurance certificates, with New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission named as additionally insured, shall be provided prior to occupying the slip. Stafford Township assumes no responsibility or liability for use of the slip. Licensee shall indemnify Stafford Township of any damages resulting from the use of the boat slip, in accordance with the License Agreement.
