Stafford Township recently hosted a Suicide Prevention Workshop in collaboration with the New Jersey Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). This 45-60 minute educational program provided participants with the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to help save lives within their communities.
During the workshop, participants learned about common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, as well as actionable steps they can take if they recognize someone in distress. The presentation emphasized the importance of protective factors, crisis intervention, and open conversations to help individuals in need.
